Petrochina has implemented measures to address climate change and protect the ecological environment into every energy cooperation project. The Rumaila project attaches great importance to the green management of the oil area, creating a green environment and creating a green oilfield. By the end of 2023, the landscape greening of the whole camp will be completed, with a total green belt length of 18,000 meters and the green area of the oilfield reaching 12,000 square meters. The Halfaya Project has developed an action plan for biodiversity conservation, which analyzes and evaluates the direct and indirect impacts of production activities at various stages of the oil field on priority protected species, and conscientiously implements biodiversity conservation measures. The Chad Project actively responds to the Chadian government's call for "a tree per person" and participates in afforestation projects. In the first phase, 300,000 trees were planted in 300 hectares of green belt around N 'Djamena, the capital of Chad, which stabilized the soil, prevented soil erosion and improved air quality.
